Reasons To Choose IDNet

Maximum Throughput Guarantee

We guarantee no contention on our network, no throttling, no traffic shaping & no port blocking. No contention on our network is achieved by not oversubscribing our broadband services and ensuring that bandwidth investment exceeds customer demand. This means that we can guarantee the maximum throughput that your line can support at all times.

QoS for Voip

We have fully implemented Quality of Service (QoS) across our network. By ensuring that all our network devices are QoS aware we can guarantee that those delay-sensitive applications such as VoIP and SSH are given the appropriate priority required for optimum performance.

Low Latency Guarantee

Our network is one of the fastest, best connected networks in the UK, with points of presence in London, Frankfurt, Stockholm, Paris and Amsterdam . At these exchanges we have peering agreements with over 800 networks which enable us to pass traffic at up to 10 Gigabit speeds, delivering the highest performance and lowest latency that is technically possible.

Free UK Technical Support

We don’t use 0845, 0870 numbers, or any other premium rate lines. Our support is absolutely free of charge and unlimited provided by UK based support professionals via a free-phone 0800 telephone number and email.

FTTC
Broadband speeds are affected by your proximity to your local telephone street cabinet, quality of your phone line and any internal wiring. Estimated synchronisation speeds for your line are based on a clean line (i.e. in good condition), the DSL router being connected directly to the Openreach master socket and computer being connected via ethernet cable (any speed related issue will require this setup in order to do diagnostics).
Most FTTC Migrations are free of charge. For new connections and transfers from full LLU (Sky / Talk Talk) or Cable (Virgin Media) there is a combined activation charge of £75.00. See our price list for full details.
FTTC connections are subject to a 1 month contract.
SOGEA
Broadband speeds are affected by your proximity to your local telephone street cabinet & quality of your line. Estimated synchronisation speeds for your line are based on a clean line (i.e. in good condition), the DSL router being connected directly to the Openreach master socket and computer being connected via ethernet cable (any speed related issue will require this setup in order to do diagnostics).
SOGEA installations are subject to an installation charge of £50.00.
SOGEA connections are available with choice of 1 month or 12 month contracts.
FTTP
FTTP connections are subject to a 1 year contract. If you cancel the service (including moving house) then you will be liable for the remaining months of the 12 month contract. Early termination charges will also apply if you change to a package with a lower download or upload speed and a new 12 month contract will apply. If you enable/disable traffic priority or increase the service speed then a new 12 month contract period will apply from the date of the change.
Official lead time quoted by Openreach is 14 days, actual lead time varies subject to survey.
FTTP connections for both new circuits and migrations will be subject to a £50.00 activation charge.
FTTP services are contended so throughput speed may be below synchronisation speed at peak times, if you require an un-contended service please speak to us about our EtherPro Leased Lines.
SuperFast Plus
'SuperFast Plus' - please see our Care Levels page for details of Enhanced Care. Traffic priority provides additional speed at peak times on 'BT Wholesale' supplied lines, most of our LLU lines have higher traffic priority by default.
IPv6
A native /48 IPv6 block gives you 65,536 subnets, each subnet consisting of 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 addresses.
IPv6 on our services must be configured via DHCPv6 which is supported by most modern routers.
IPv4
A single static IPv4 address will be provided by default but you can opt to have a /30 or /29 block instead for an extra monthly charge.
/30 blocks contain 4 addresses of which 2 are usable, /29 blocks contain 8 addresses of which 6 are usable.
